Pay consists of two components: a job requirements component and a personal performance component. In this position, the job requirements component is €3,044.00/month, based on level 5 of the job requirements table for teaching and research staff. The personal performance component can be a minimum of 6% and a maximum of 50% of the above amount. Depending on the personal performance component, the salary at the beginning of the employment relationship will be approximately €3,534-€3,717/month.

2. Postdoctoral Researcher/Project Researcher, Biogeochemistry

The University of Eastern Finland invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher/Project Researcher in Biogeochemistry to work on a research project funded by the Academy of Finland. The position will be filled for a fixed term of 3 years from January 1, 2023.

4. Kielenkääntäjä / Translator

We are looking for a translator for a fixed-term employment contract. The position is located at the Joensuu or Kuopio campus and starts on January 1, 2023, or by agreement.

The translator’s main task is to support internal communication in English at the University of Eastern Finland as well as communication in English aimed at students. The work includes translations of various internal documents, such as instructions, decisions, minutes, and intranet pages related to university and faculty administration, as well as student-oriented materials, such as bulletins and instructions, in Finnish-English. language pair. The main direction of translation is from Finnish to English.

Salary Information

The salary for the position is determined according to the salary system of universities (other professional and support staff). The salary consists of a task-specific salary component and a personal performance-based salary component. In this position, the salary part is specific to the given task of level 8 or 9 in the difficulty level classification (2,640.49 EUR – 3,044.14 EUR/month). In addition, a wage component is paid according to personal performance, which amounts to 6 to 50% of the task component of the wage.

5. Doctoral Researcher, Engineering/Computer Science

We are now inviting applications for two PhD students (PhD student, Engineering/Informatics) to join the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie PhD Network under the European Commission’s Horizon 2021 programme. The positions will start in November 2022 at the earliest.

Salary Information

The salary for the position is based on the MSCA salary system. The salary consists of a living allowance and a mobility allowance. The mobility allowance covers their additional costs related to private mobility (eg travel and accommodation costs), not their professional costs for the event, which are covered by the research, training and networking allowance.

If the admitted PhD student has or will acquire family obligations during the duration of the action, i.e. persons related to him by (i) marriage or (ii) a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognized by the legislation of the country or region where this relationship was formalized; or iii) dependent children who are actually supported by the researcher must also be paid family allowances. The salary for this position will be approx. 3624 euros/month (without family allowances, which is 548.94 euros/month).
