Humphrey Scholarships For International Students in USA Program Details

  • Host Institutions: The student will be hosted at one of the participating universities in the United States. You cannot choose the university you go to. Instead, you’ll be assigned to the best hosting center by 7-15 different teams, depending on your favorite areas and specialties.
  • Majors: See below for a list of majors
  • Duration: Up to 10 months
  • Target Audience: Hubert Humphrey’s integrated program covers sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and Eurasia, the Middle East, and North Africa. It is open to citizens of countries. East Asia and Pacific, South and Central Asia, Western Hemisphere, and other countries.

Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Humphrey Fellowship Program has been funded by the United States Congress since 1978 as a Fulbright Exchange Program honoring the community service of the late Senator and Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey (1911-1978). Have received Humphrey was a longtime advocate of international cooperation and understanding, and from 1965 he served as Vice President of the United States until 1969 and served in the United States Senate for many years.

Since 1978, he has had over 6,400 fellows from 163 countries participating in the program. More than 40 universities hosted the Fellows during their academic year.

Required Documents for Hubert Humphrey Fellowship

  • Scanned copies of certificates of all post-secondary degrees obtained (in English or translated from a certified translation office).
  • Scanned copies of all degree documents obtained (in English or translated by an accredited translation agency).
  • Proof of English proficiency at one of the authorized testing centers listed below. Candidates are required to submit a valid score report for only one of the following tests: TOEFL (ITP) – 450 points TOEFL (BT) – 45 points IELTS – 5.0 points Duolingo English Test – 60 points See the list of accredited test centers on the program page here.
  • Two letters of recommendation; the person must leave their current employer.
  • Scanned copy of original valid ID
  • Personal photo
  • Scanned copy of US J1 or J2 visa (if any).
